After a few months of exploring, we've got three brand new gravel route recommendations to share! Find turn-by-turn navigation for these new Hastings County cycling routes and more ways to crush the best gravel in Ontario when you join us on Ride With GPS!
New Route 1: Have a Nice Day Ride, Tweed
Start your day trip by hitting the back roads from Tweed down to Thomasburg, where you can grab a classic food truck lunch from Nat's Place at the Thomasburg Store if you time your visit right. Just around the corner is Vanderwater Conservation Area - perfect for a picnic or a dip in the Moira River to cool down.
You'll follow the Moira back up to Tweed, catching glimpses of the water over several bridges, and then loop around Stoco Lake before arriving back in town for a Cube Coffee Bar treat.

New Route 2: River Rats, Marmora and Lake
If you prefer your challenges with a heavy side of rewards, River Rats is the perfect fit. A family-friendly length and light elevation profile are complemented by an excellent swimming hole at Callaghan's Rapids. After 25KM of gravel riding, you'll be ready for a quick dip! If you need to dip your feet earlier than that, wade in to Rylstone Lake at KM 19.
For a post-ride dip, don't miss Booster Park Beach in Marmora: we suggest picking up a pizza from Theo's to enjoy by the water!
New Route 3: Ormsby Acres, Wollaston
Big climbs mean big vistas! Surrounded by lakes (and loads of accommodation options) Ormsby Acres is the pick for when a full unplug is the goal. The route passes Steenburg Lake, so local cottagers could easily choose to start and end from their home base and make Coe Hill a midway stop.
Check to make sure The Monarch and The Milkweed is open and plan for breakfast, lunch or a well-deserved treat! Note that you can hop in the water at Steenburg Lake Public Beach during the summer, and refuel at St. Ola's Station along the route if needed.
