Big news for Tyendinaga Township: an Ontario Trillium Foundation Seed Grant is funding a permanent cycling wayfinding project! Purpose-built signage across six loop routes, with every intersection confirmed — from a quick 14 km spin to a full-day, 49 km ride through the quiet corners of Hastings County. Pick a pace, pick a loop, just ride. Group rides are coming to the Township this season, plus a proper launch day, bike rodeo, and more special events to follow — show up, ride your bike, have fun. Funded by the Ontario Trillium Foundation. Delivered by BOQ.BIKE in partnership with Tyendinaga Township.

We've been riding these roads for years and telling friends they need to come out. Then they ask which turn to take on Shannonville Road, and we end up drawing a map on the back of a napkin. That part's over.

Tyendinaga Township is installing signs at every intersection across five loop routes — from a quick hour-long ride near the rec complex to a full day traversing Shannon, Phillips, and Callaghan roads. Show up at the kiosk at the rec complex on McFarlane Road, pick a loop, and go. Every turn confirmed. Every route brings you back to where you parked.

And it's not just signs: gear up for monthly group rides from May through October, a Family Bike Rodeo kickoff on May 24, a Canada Day ride on July 1 and a Halloween Day Ride to close the season. From skills development to repair tools to loaner helmets and reflective vests, Tyendinaga Township is here to kickstart your next two-wheeled adventure.
