If you’re looking for quiet, here’s where to find it. Head out of Tweed past farmland into the Canadian Shield. After that, it’s trees as far as the eye can see. This route is remote, so prepare with extra water, food and battery power for your devices. If needed, you can divert from the route into Madoc at kilometre 53, but that’s a long way in.

With a well-stocked kit, you’ll be able to fully immerse yourself in the woods. When you hit Bronson Rapids Rd at km 60 you’ll know you’re in for a different view. Shortly after, it’s a cruise down the Trans-Canada Trail back to Tweed.
