Hi everyone,
Good news: the Tyendinaga Bike Rodeo has a new date. We're back on for Wednesday, July 1 — Canada Day — from 1:30 to 4:00 PM at the Tyendinaga Recreation Complex, 363 McFarlane Rd, Shannonville.
Thanks for rolling with us after the rain washed us out for May 24. We held out for a great day instead of a grey day, and we landed on a really good one — your kids get the full Bike Rodeo, with the Township's Canada Day celebration to step into right after.
If you registered for May 24, your spot carries over automatically — there's nothing you need to do.
1:00 PM — Free bike safety checks open
1:30 PM — Rodeo skills stations open
3:15 PM — Family Ride
4:00 PM — Wrap-up, lunch, and Certificates of Participation
It's still free, lunch is still on us, and it's the same six stations the kids have been waiting for.
The Township's Canada Day program runs all afternoon at the hall — BBQ, music, and the rally — so you can make a full Canada Day of it. Roll from the rodeo, grab a hot dog, stay for the music and fireworks at dusk.
Want a warm-up? The same guide we'll use on the day is live now:
Open it on your phone, head out to the driveway or a quiet parking lot, and run the stations with your kids on any sunny afternoon between now and Canada Day — helmet fit, slow riding, signalling, and a good, quick stop. A great way to get the wheels turning before July 1.
One small favour: if you know another family who'd enjoy this, send them the same link. They can register in a couple of minutes and start using the guide at home as well. The more kids out riding on Canada Day, the better the day for all of us.
See you on July 1,
Adam & Laura BOQ.BIKE
